The pony is white and has black spots and Nysa is in love with Ginger already. It has become a permanent resident at the farmhouse where the Devgns are spending the next month and a half. Ajay is shooting at a nearby studio in Karjat for Milan Luthria’s Once Upon a Time in Mumbai. And Kajol is shooting for Karan Johar’s Step-Mom. “Nysa has school, so they join me on the weekends,” said Ajay, confirming his New Year’s gift for Nysa. “My little one expressed a desire to learn to ride. So I got her Ginger,” he added.

Nysa’s riding lessons began on January 1, itself and she is said to show a natural flair for the sport. Ajay himself is a keen rider and his friend Milan Luthria used to be a jockey at one point. It was with Milan’s expertise and help from a couple of other close friends that Ajay managed to get the pedigreed Ginger from a stud farm in Pune.

Now the actor wants to buy himself a horse so that he can ride with Nysa. Kajol doesn’t know to ride but is eager to learn. The actress will enrol for full-time riding lessons after her current schedule of Step-Mom and the promotions of her forthcoming film My Name is Khan are over.

At an event to unveil the first look of their film, Bollywood’s famous jodi SRK-Kajol who have come together after eight long years onscreen, displayed some lovely moments, proving how their sizzling chemistry still remains intact.

For starters, they praised each other’s histrionics and credited Karan for bringing out the best in them. It was very endearing to see the lovely Kajol leaning and holding SRK’s arms while watching the sneak preview of the film. “He is grown a little taller and developed a good body, great six packs,” said Kajol when asked to point out the changes she found in Shah Rukh, since their last film Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham.

Kajol also thanked Kjo for giving her such a wonderful film and an opportunity to work with SRK again. “I think this film completes us as actors. I am sure Shah Rukh will agree,” she said and let the men on the podium, especially SRK to take the action forward.

When SRK talked, like always, the press was all eyes and ears for no star can ever strike a better conversation with the media than SRK.

Any specific marketing strategy for the film promotion that he and Karan have been planning just like arch rival Aamir Khan’s who’s been aggressively promoting his films all over? “Most definitely,” SRK averred. “I haven’t vanished. I am still here so we will certainly come out with something,” he grinned as the crowd applauded at his witty remark, clearly a casual dig perhaps at Aamir’s disappearing act aired on TV these days.

Brushing aside queries about facing prejudices for being a Muslim, apparently one of the themes in My Name is Khan, SRK said, a tad agitated. “Never. These are very petty discussions. I never felt discriminated for my faith or surname. On the contrary I have only gained much more than I have ever imagined. God and people have been more than kind.”

Talking about the film SRK said, “However, the essence of the film is love, with a little Karan Joharish touch. It deals with the fact that the greatest tool on this earth is love. You can conquer anything with it”.

SRK took his banter to another level when he lightly replied to a query as to why the emphasis is on the surname `Khan’ and not `Rizwaan’ which is his name in the film.

“My name is Bond, James Bond….Yeah?” he said with a smirk flashing his famous dimple. “So there you go .My name is Khan… Shah Rukh Khan”.

MY NAME IS KHAN marks the comeback of one of the most popular jodis of all times, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, who together have ruled the hearts of zillions around the globe. It also marks the return of director Karan Johar (as a director) after a gap of almost 3-4 years, and it is a more mature Karan who has reinvented himself and has certainly come of age. With MNIK it appears that Karan has deviated from his usual Raj/Rahul love story. In fact the grand Indian family and traditional melodrama with the strong family bonding seems to have gone on the back foot.

As may be recalled, the USP of the two highly successful films, KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI and KABHI KHUSHI KABHIE GHAM, comprising of the super successful team of King Khan, the queen of Bollywood Kajol and maverick director Karan Johar, has undoubtedly been the extremely strong SRK-Kajol love story that touched the hearts of countless mushy eyed fans globally, both young and old!

However, their third film is being talked about more for its theme of terrorism and is being compared to the likes of FANAA and NEW YORK, with some naysayers even bringing in Karan’s last production venture, KURBAAN. But it is good news for the lovers of Johar style of cinema, as MNIK is a love story and one of the best that the SRK-Kajol pair have worked in. And our headlines is not just a hypothesis as this statement has been confirmed by none other than Bollywood’s global superstar, Shah Rukh Khan, at the launch of the first look of the most awaited film of 2010, MY NAME IS KHAN.

As per the man himself ‘MNIK is one of the nicest love stories that I have participated in and I have participated in some of the best love stories in Indian films.’ And this has further been confirmed by Karan who says, ‘MNIK has nothing to do with terrorism.’

Well, we keenly await the best love story that SRK-Kajol have done so far, obviously MY NAME IS KHAN, and that too during the next Valentine weekend!

MNIK promo successfully opens a window to what the basic story is, whips up an engaging drama and leaves you panting for more. Rizwan’s (Shahrukh) disability is blanketed by Mandira’s (Kajol) overwhelmingly deep affection. How 9/11 changes lives forever and for some strange innocent reason Rizwan wants to meet up with the President Of America. There’s a strong resistance and guns blaze on the roads of suspicion.

There are two significant lines that stay with you when the promo is over. First one is: He believed that if you do good deeds…good things will happen to you. And the second is: We are stronger than our fears. It seems that the Writing will be the strong point of ‘My Name Is Khan’ and undoubtedly Karan Johar is treading a territory that in all probability will enrich the Indian film industry.

The production design looks top notch, cinematography is world class and the look of both Shahrukh and Kajol is different from what we’ve seen them in before. There’s a small section of a song ‘Noor-e-Khuda’ which comes at the beginning of the promo and it seems Shankar-Ehsan-Loy have redeemed themselves after an average ‘London Dreams’. The background score sounds very engaging too.

Kajol’s breakdown scene sends chills down your spine. What a volcano of a talent she is. Shahrukh’s intense sincerity binds your attention from the first frame of the promo till its last. This may be the turning point in the career of Shahrukh Khan, the fantastic actor, who amazed earlier with magnificence in Chak De India. It goes without saying that the First Look promo of ‘My Name Is Khan‘ whets your appetite for the real thing. One of the finest First Look promos in recent times.
